Minister Safi Meets Indonesian Commissioner for Human Rights

Kabul (BNA) Acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi in a meeting with Indonesian commissioner for human rights discussed and exchanged views in connection with role of women in peace process, women participation in social activities and appointment of women in government institutions.
In the meeting, the Indonesian commissioner for human rights by briefing related to activities and achievements of Indonesian commission on human rights in addressing problems of women in post war areas added the government was making effort to pave the way for effective presence of women in various sectors through training and their appointment in government and non-government institutions.
Meanwhile, acting minister of information and culture in a separate meeting with Indonesian director for national museum stressed on consolidation and expansion of relations between museums of the two countries, adding that national museum of Afghanistan by having artifacts and historic relics was one of the prestigious museums in the region and world.
Recalling that museums were reflecting the culture and history of countries, acting minister of information and culture added officials of national museum of Afghanistan were making effort to make new generation of the country get acquainted with the country’s historic artifacts being preserved in the museum as mobile museum programs have been launched recently in Balkh, Kandahar and Nangarhar to make them aware of the country’s historic relics and artifacts and such programs would be launched in all provinces of Afghanistan.
In the meeting, the Indonesian director for national museum stressed on exchanging cultural relations particularly in the field of museums between the two countries, asking for expansion and consolidation of cultural relations with Afghanistan.
