Atifmal Calls On Tajikistan President

Kabul (BNA) Atiqullah Atifmal the deputy on administrative affairs at the ministry of foreign affairs called on Tajikistan president Imam Ali Rehman at the sideline of the conference of investment association of Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) in Dushanbe the other day.
Welcoming the Afghan delegation, president Rehman congratulated the formation of national unity government, adding peace and stability in Afghanistan is vital for security in Tajikistan.
Expressing satisfaction over the friendly relations and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, the Tajik president stressed for further enhancing relations between the two neighboring countries. Expressing gratitude to Tajik president, Atifmal also conveyed the good wishes and messages of president and chief executive officer of the national unity government to president Rehman. Tajik president also lauded the role of China as an economic power of the world in all fields including the war on terror, extremism, regional peace and economic cooperation in the region, saying the China’s cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and security is important for Afghanistan, Tajikistan and countries in the region. President Rehman also noted that with implementation connectivity projects and railway project from Tajikistan to Afghanistan onward to Guadar of Pakistan and power project KASA-1000 would pave the way for boosting trade and investment among the three nations. Tajik president said he would invite former president Hamid Karzai to visit Tajikistan.  According to another report, the charge de affairs of the embassy of People’s Republic of China, Shen Shijie called on Atiqullah in his office here yesterday and congratulated him over the successful visit of president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to China and inking cooperation agreements on boosting trade, economic and security as well as economic cooperation in the region. In his remarks, Atifmal thanked China as a good neighbor and big power over its contribution to Afghanistan over the past 13 years. Atifmal also said that China was the first country invited president Ghani to visit China, adding it’s a matter of pride that Afghanistan enjoys the political, economic and trade support of China. China can play important role towards peace and security in Afghanistan, Atifmal said, adding since China has close relations with Pakistan it can use its influence to help Afghans achieve lasting peace.  The charge de affairs of China embassy said in the meeting that soon a high-ranking security delegation of China would visit Pakistan and then to Afghanistan to exchange views on peace and security.
