Chief Executive Meets Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met the Parwiz Khatak, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan here yesterday and exchanged views on matters relating mutual interests including enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring states. In the meeting, the Chief Minister Khatak, accompanied by several provincial ministers, said that Pakistan would continue to support Afghanistan in several fields including refugees, tourism, trade, economy and health. Dr. Abdullah said that the national unity government since its establishment has been striving to have friendly relations with the countries in the region and the world. He also noted that the government of Afghanistan has been working to chalk out a comprehensive plan for refugees’ repatriation, requesting Pakistan government to help in honorable repatriation of refugees. According to another report, Chief Executive received a delegation of elders from Kandahar, Helmand and Zabul provinces.
The delegation apprised the Chief Executive about the problems facing their provinces including security challenges. After listening to their problems and demands, Dr. Abdullah assured that the government would spare no efforts to ensure amicable solutions to all the problems of the citizens. According to another report held meeting with members of the senate commission for higher education, religion and culture and officials from Kabul University here yesterday and discussed series of issues. During the meeting it was said some universities including Kabul University is facing budget reduction which affects the capacity to absorb new students. Chief Executive stressed in the meeting that the curriculum in universities should be modernized in accordance with the new scientific standard.
