Private School Founder Nominated for Global Teacher Prize

Kabul (BNA) Azizullah Royesh, founder of Marafat High School, has been selected in ten top teachers of the world and nominated by Global Teacher Prize organization for world teacher award.
The prize having financial and spiritual values and is significant as Nobel Prize is granted to a top teacher of the world and its cash prize reaches to $1m. Thousands of teachers across the world are nominated for getting the prize every year. This year, Azizullah Royesh, founder of Marafat High School of Afghanistan, has been nominated for getting the prize. He has been selected in ten top teachers of the world and it is determined that final winner of the prize will be declared in 16th of March, 2015 in Dubai. Azizullah Royesh, left for Pakistan for the second time in 1994, founded a school for Afghan refugees to Pakistan. After falling of the Taliban regime in 2001, Royesh returned to Kabul and founded Marafat High School. In 2012, Azizullah Royesh went to Washington through fellowship of national foundation of democracy and wrote a book titled ‘Leave me to breathe’.
