Kabul (BNA) The first vice president Mohammad Younus Qanooni in meeting with dozens of members of the Jawan Activists’ Network For Change and Reform yesterday described elections as symbol of democracy and emphasized for transparency in the election process BNA reports.
In the meeting, Qanooni said that the people of Afghanistan in accordance with Bonn Agreement had laid the foundation of democratic system in the country and it is our responsibility to safeguard it.
He also said that Afghans by giving sacrifices and casting vote over the past 13 years have changed elections day into national celebration.
Qanooni also expressed his opposition to fraud in the election, saying any fraud is equal to death of democracy and people’s trust to the system and future.
