Kabul (BNA) The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke yesterday morning during a consultative meeting with Mir Rahman Rahmani, Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga and its administrative panel, about holding a Peace Consultative Loya Jirga.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Vice Presidents, the Head of the Peace Negotiating Team and the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, President Ghani stressed the need to convene a Peace Consultative Loya Jirga to determine the fate of 400 Taliban prisoners. President Ghani said that in the Peace Consultative Jirga, important national issues will be discussed and decided in the light of the consensus and views of the people and their representatives, including peace. Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, and Sarwar Danesh, the second vice president, also spoke about the mechanism for convening the Loya Jirga and called the role of the Wolesi Jirga in the Consultative Peace Jirga important.
At the end of the meeting, the Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga called the support of the people for the system and their consultations on national and crucial issues important and assured of his cooperation in this field.
