MoIC Investigating Report On UNESCO’s Mawlana Masnavi’s Registration

Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Information and Culture has said it was seriously investigating a report saying Mawlana’s renowned Masnavi Manavi had been registered with the UNESCO’s Cultural Heritages jointly by the Iranian and Turkish sides, according to a report from the BNA.
The ministry of information and Culture has shared the issue with the UNESCO international organization’s representative in Afghanistan, the agency said adding the received information indicated that no measure had been still taken in this field.
The ministry of information and culture has expressed its concern over the move by the Iranian and Turkish countries, through a message to the ministry of foreign affairs to share the issue with the Afghanistan embassy based in France and ask for asking the countries not to join hand to grab the country’s prides.
“Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi was born in Balkh province of Afghanistan and his great works are owned by the Afghans,” said the statement adding the ministry of information and culture has to safeguard and protect the country’s glories.
Masnavi Manavi, one of the Mawlana’s great works would be registered by the name of Afghanistan in UNESCO Cultural Heritages, alongside other glories of the country, the ministry said as quoted by the Bakhtar News Agency.
