Kabul (BNA) The drafted report on convention against torture was inked by the leading and, working committees, technical and coordination committee here in the ministry of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, yesterday.
In a meeting chaired by deputy to foreign ministry Hekmat Khalil Karzai and attended by officials from different government departments, the official said that the convention against torture was inked on February 4, 1985 and Afghanistan joined it on April 10, 1987. Under the agreement, the government of Afghanistan is obliged to present its preliminary report within year and its periodical report in each four year to the committee of convention against torture.
The report after approving by leading committee would be sent to the United Nations.
