Kabul (BNA) The establishment of National Academy for Army personnel is another step toward self-sufficiency and capacity building of Afghan national army, which can offer educated army officers to Afghan community.
BNA commenting on the issue writes, capacity building and equipping Afghan national army has been a controversial issue during the last years. The situation in the country and in the region requires Afghanistan to establish a strong army based on modern standards to fight successfully against challenges that imposed by foreign forces and interferences. One of the ways to end foreign interferences and overcome the current challenges is the capacity building of the security forces of the country. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan understanding this urgent need considers equipping and the capacity building of the security personnel as its major priority and seriously endeavors to build a strong and professional army to overcome the current challenges and to ensure the ground for good governance and stability in the country. Therefore, to achieve these patriotic and national goals, National Academy of Army established.
Hamid Karzai the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in augural ceremony of the academy, called the establishment of the academy   a firm step toward the defense capabilities of the army. He said, using this opportunity we should try to train Afghan youths to meet the security requirement of the country and to reach in a status, the Afghan educated officers and experts take active and effective part in training and capacity building of the personnel of security forces.
The establishment of National Military Academy, that trains Afghan youths, equivalent to Saint Horst military academy of UK can introduce Afghan army as a professional force in the region.  Currently Saint Horst military academy is also involved in military training in India and Pakistan. It worth of mentioning that likewise the Afghan security forces need to obtain military training and to learn the use of modern technology, they should learn the lessons of patriotism and defending the national values and without any involvement in politics, defend the national interests, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of the country.
Previously the Afghan military personnel trained abroad. The host countries imposed their ideologies and policies on them, what happened in 1357 was a result of such influences, which caused heavy casualties and destructions continuing.
The establishment of military institutes inside the country not only provides the ground for military personnel to boost their capabilities but rid them from the influence of foreign countries.
The establishment of National Military Academy is another step toward safeguarding the achievements of the last ten years and demonstrates the initiation and strong will of the national army personnel.  T. Nemat
