Senate Slams Govt. For Not Celebrating 8th Saur

Kabul (BNA) Members of Senate with Fazal Hadi Muslimyar on the chair in its meeting yesterday slammed the government for not celebrating the 8th Saur or the victory of Mujahideen against the invading forces of the former Soviet Union to Afghanistan.
According to upper house press office to BNA, besides expressing congratulation to the nation, the senate said during Jihad against Russian troops millions of Afghans had been martyred, disabled and migrated to other countries.
The senators pointed out that 28th Assad the 8th Saur deserve to be celebrated and by celebrating the days, the glorious memories of Jihad should be transferred to the young generations of the country.
In his speech the deputy chairman of Senate Mohammad Alam Ezidyar termed 8th Saur or Mujahideen victory day as a national pride calling upon the government to celebrate the day in a splendid way.
