Efforts Underway For Maintaining Election’s Security: Sediqi

Kabul (BNA) A spokesman for ministry of interior says Afghan national police casualties have increased by 15% this year comparing to 2012.
Speaking in a news conference held yesterday in Kabul, Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for MoI said ANP casualties had increased by 15% during the current year comparing to 2012, acting most of the casualties caused by roadside mines.
He considered Taliban operation named ‘Khalid Ibn Walid’ as a failed program saying they even couldn’t capture a district.
“In 2014, ANP will pay full consideration on protection of borders in order that entering of terrorists to the country is prevented,” Sediqi added.
Related to maintaining security during the elections, Sediqi said efforts are underway for maintaining security, adding he assured the people of police ability in maintaining for the elections and people could take part in a secure environment.
The ministry’s spokesman as asserted that 2013 was a good opportunity for ANP training in the country.
He said 30 Afghan women are dispatched to Egypt for receiving professional training, adding an agreement had been signed for dispatching 120 other Afghan women for training in Turkey.
