Sergey Rudskoy Russian Army chief Says War will Focus on East Ukraine

KABUL (BNA) The Army chief of Russian says that now the main war effort of the country will be focused on “the complete liberation of the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry says Russia has two options for its “special military operation.” One all over Ukraine and the other focus on Donbass.

The remarks, published by Russian state news agencies, point to a reduction in Russia’s possible war goals. Russian forces have faced heavy resistance in northern Ukraine and around Kiev, the capital.

“93 percent of Luhansk Oblast and 54 percent of Donetsk Oblast are under Russian control,” said Sergey Rudskoy, Chief of Operations of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

He added that Russia had destroyed the vast majority of Ukraine’s air and naval forces, signaling the successful completion of the first phase of the conflict.

Russia’s Defense Ministry did not rule out an attack on besieged Ukrainian cities, saying Russia would respond immediately to any move to close airspace over Ukraine. a request that the President of Ukraine has repeatedly made.

Based on media the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that the country would continue its aggression until it achieves the goals set by Putin.
