Kabul (BNA) Second Vice-President, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh chaired the joint committee of journalists’ security and safety and said speed, accuracy in investigation of violence cases against journalists help provide further ground for access to information, Danesh KABUL: Second Vice-President, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh chaired the joint committee of journalists’ security and safety and said speed and accuracy in investigation of violence cases against journalists would help provide further ground for access to information, BNA reported Sunday. The second vice president called creation of joint committee for the journalists’ security and safety, an important step and added that accuracy and speed in investigation of violence cases against journalists would pave further venue for transparent access to information, said the agency. The deputy minister of interior for security affairs said based on the committee procedure, big part of the responsibilities of the ministry of interior is to organize and manage the coordination center at the center and provinces of the country have been executed, said the agency. Discussing the issue of killing two journalists in Zabul province, the deputy interior minister said at least one person was arrested on charge of killing the national TV journalist in the province, the agency added. Other members of the committee also spoke about different issues on journalists and highlighted their responsibilities about journalists within the joint committee and while providing report about the killing of two journalists in Zabul and Helmand provinces and attack on the Nasim Radio office in Dykundi, the representative of the attorney general office said the AGO would soon track down the cases of violence against journalists. Other journalists’ related issues have also been discussed in the meeting, with the ministry of interior and the AGO have been obliged to coordinately provide report about the cases of violence against journalists and that to what extend their files have been reached, and then report to the committee. The committee also discussed the journalists’ monetary fund and asked for state legislative documents, in which the way of how to use the fund should be specified. The meeting also spoke about the inner structure and formation of the joint committee of the security and safety of journalists and under the suggestion of the journalist national federation, the committee deputy chairmanship was taken by Fahim Dashti and the secretariat was delivered to the National Security Directorate office.
