More Than Thirty Four Thousand Girls Attending Schools In Logar

Kabul (BNA) In spite of security problems, the number of female students in educational institutes of Logar province is increasing by passing each year.
Mohammad Shahpoor the spokesperson of Education Department of Logar province told BNA “according to the figures reached us, presently more than 34000 girls are going school which shows ten percent increase than the previous year.
He added, due to the persistence made by the governor’s office and education department in coordination other departments, donor organizations and knowledge loving residents of Logar province there has been a glorious development and progress in education system of the province. The relevant authorities of the province also committed keeping the torch of sciences and knowledge alight offer the required services to the children of the country.
The education department claimed that in 307 education centers and schools more than 125000 students both boys and girls are studying in the center and districts of the province.
The education department considering situation and facilities has enrolled 31,700 students both boys and girls in educational institutes and schools during current year. Presently, more than 91,000 boys and more than 34,000 girls are taught by more than 3,000 teachers of whom 700 are women.
According to the spokesperson of education department, there are 123 primary, 74 secondary and 70 high schools operating in the province, 90 of which belong to the girls. He complained that so far 117 schools have no building.
He added the number of girls attending schools in Logar province 10% increased than the previous year.
Baseera one of the students of Bi Bi Amina high school says, presently most of the families send their girls to schools for acquiring knowledge and the girls are attending schools with great zeal and courage. Unfortunately, lack of security is a major problem on the way of education in some parts of the province.
Mohammad Daud a shopkeeper in Pul – I – Alam city whose girl studying in a school there says, “I work hard and do my best to provide the ground for the studies of children.” He added, as he encourage his sons for acquiring Knowledge, in same way supports the education of his girl and no problem would bar her from acquiring Knowledge.
He asked the local authorities to pay serious attention in ensuring security of the schools.
