Time for Islamic World to Line Up Against Terrorists: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA)  President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani inaugurated Shah Du Shamshira Masjid (Mosque) on Friday and offered evening prayers there, a presidential palace statement said yesterday.

At the outset, officials from the Ministry of Urban Development and Lands and the Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs provided information on the reconstruction of the Shah Du Shamshira Masjid and thanked the President for his special attention to the reconstructions of Masjids in provinces and districts, including the Shah Du Shamshira in Kabul.

After listening to their information, the President congratulated the citizens for the reconstruction of the Shah Du Shamshira Masjid, saying that every family in Kabul has a memory of this Masjid, adding that it was a happy moment to give this Masjid back to the citizens after renovation.

The President condemned Thursday’s terrorist attack on worshipers of the Haji Bakhshi Grand Masjid in Shakardara district and expressed his condolences for the martyrdom of the Imam and the worshipers, saying that today it was time for the Islamic world to line up against terrorist groups and stand united, as according to him attacking Masjids and Mullahs was clear violation of all Islamic, human and humanitarian principles.

At the end of his speech, the President said that protecting the honorable scholars and their honor was the duty of all of us, especially the duty of the government.
