Political Support Existed For Education Sector, President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) The Human Forces’ High Council meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair continued to discuss reformation in education sector, a statement from presidential press office said on Thursday.
At the outset, acting minister of education and deputy minister of general studies, Mohammad Ibrahim Shenwari informed the session on the recent report of Int’l commission on education, saying the commission findings would help the ministry to address corruption issues.
Meanwhile a number of civil society representatives spoke related to education, saying a draft plan would be presented on education sector in upcoming Human Forces’ High Council meeting.
Nawab Khalej representing the Youth Inventory’ Association said the country’s constitutions should be included in the country’s education curriculum and the 12th class graduates should have information in technology.
Addressing the session, President Ghani said enough political support was existed for the education sector in the country, adding the school principals and provincial directors of the ministry of education should be selected based on meritocracy.
The president also emphasized on recognition of talents in remote areas’ schools, adding investment should be taken place on them.
