Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani visited the interior ministry yesterday and held meeting with the officials including acting minister for interior General Mohammad Ayub Salangi.
In the meeting, the president besides emphasizing on injured police personnel, merit and capacity building also stressed for harmony among security organs for further improving security situation and reviewing the curriculum for police academy. Stressing for respecting merit instead of quota system, the president said that anyone appointed as provincial police chief, he personally would make interview with him.
To ensure security in Kabul city, the national Security Council would take decision for creation of Kabul Garrison within two weeks, the president said. The international community, he said had pledged strong support to Afghanistan at London conference and NATO conference in Brussels. President also noted that 2015 is vital for Afghanistan because the national security forces taking the security responsibility of the country.
