Warsaw Conference, Strong Message of Hope, Trust And Change For Afghans

Kabul (BNA) Hoping to provide a good opportunity for the country’s security forces’ equipment and support by the member countries, the Warsaw City will host the NATO Summit in the upcoming month.
The conference would commit continuation of cooperation with Afghanistan till 2020, while Afghanistan had vowed to take effective steps to work for the electoral system reforms, fight corruption, support women rights, reduce poverty, work for improvement of banking system and bring reforms in the justice and judicial system before going to the Warsaw Conference. As far as Afghanistan gets nearer to the Warsaw Conference, the member countries investigate closely what happened in the country, as they are fully interested in holding the parliamentary and district councils’ elections and emphasized on fighting corruption. The conference is expected to be a good opportunity for Afghanistan to draw cooperation from the donor countries. The conference would focus on military sector, while the country’s security forces are engaged in war on militants in different parts of the country and conflict with the government armed oppositions are widening in the southern province of Helmand.
Some districts in the north, such as Kohistanat in Sar-e-Pul, Chardara in Kunduz, Dand-e-Ghori in Baghlan and some areas in Frayab provinces are under threat from the Taliban, and moreover, abductions are continuing across the country’s highways and most terribly Al-Qaeda loyal fighters are being erected in the country’s border areas. Meanwhile, the government of national unity should do its best for strengthening of the security and defense forces, and as it had committed make effort for implementation of its commitment in the areas of fighting drugs production heavily increased in the country recently. The government, though, had taken practical steps in this field, but it should do more to could represent a country with firmly ready to fight challenges. The government, by introducing two key security nominees for defense and NDS to the house of people is expected to put end to the acting officials and it had done much in fighting corruption, with the Attorney General Office, as one of the core corruption and ensuring justice in the society, is now witnessing wide changes.
Likewise, the human sources information system and the banking system have become computerized, the Salma Dam, as one of the country’s major infrastructural economic projects has been kicked off and got operational, the government’s revenue rose to 22 percent last year, work on the CASA-1000 had been started, the trilateral Chabahar Port agreement had been signed, showing the government achievements to retell the summit. However, restoring reforms and holding the parliamentary and districts councils elections are among the commitments nothing tangible had so far been made, but, efforts are underway and President Ashraf Ghani in his message to the UN Secretary General asked him for providing the elections budget and meanwhile, the electoral system reforms legislation had been sent to the house of people, which should do its best to approve it. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salahuddin Rabbani has said the Warsaw Conference would a strong message of hope, trust and change for the people of Afghanistan as it would help the country’s military forces get strengthened and equipped and economic infrastructures revitalized and generally would have a long commitment of cooperation for the country to 2020.
