Dead Body of Ustad Akhgar Laid To Rest

Kabul (BNA) Muhammad Qasim Akhgar, a famous Afghan author, intellectual and civil society activist was buried Wednesday, January 29.
Ustad Akhgar was 62 years old when he passed.  Qasim Akhgar was diagnosed with diabetes and had been bed-ridden since suffering a stroke last year.
There was an outpouring of support from those who had known Akhgar and worked with him over the years.  “Akhgar introduced new thoughts to the Jihadi movement of Afghanistan and the freedom movement of Afghanistan,” civil society leader Aziz Rafiyee said.
“He never backed down, and considered people’s pain as if it was his own, and he always exposed the people’s problems in his writings and publications,” Ministry of Information and Culture advisor Jalal Noorani said.
Muhammad Qasim Akhgar, son of Haji Yaqeen Ali Bayat, was born in 1951 in the Wazir Abad Area of Kabul city.
