Taliban Threat Nothing To Close Down Schools In Ghazni: Official

Kabul (BNA) Even though the threat of armed Taliban in Ghazni province has reduced the participation of students to school in Ghazni province over the past one month, according to reports and forced some pupils to avoid attending school in Andar and Dayak districts, official say the threat is not too serious to close down the schools. 
In the wake of banning unregistered motorbikes in Ghazni province, the armed Taliban warned teachers and students to stop attending schools. 
However, security officials in Ghazni province say that as a security measures to check terrorist activities, the authorities have banned driving unregistered motorbikes which often driven by Taliban militants. 
A student of grade 11 namely Jawed said that he stopped attending school due to Taliban threat and called on government to help students attend school without any security concerns. 
Meantime, the director of education department in Ghazni province, Ahsanullah Nashir has downplayed the Taliban threat, saying the threat is not too serious to close the schools. Nonetheless, he admitted that in spite of security threat the thousands of boys and girls attend their schools in Ghazni. 
Nashir also stated with the support of security forces the environment for education in Ghazni would be improved. 
Meantime, governor of Ghazni province Musa Khan Akbarzada said that the Taliban by removing the ban on unregistered motorbike want to continue terrorist activities and killing the people. 
Akbarzada also confirmed that Taliban threat in Andar, Dayak and even Ghazni city had forced some students to stay at home, promising the problems would soon be solved in consultation with the elders. 
Meantime, Abdul Sabour Ghafrani a spokesman for the education ministry has ruled out the closure of schools in Ghazni but confirmed the Taliban threat has undermined the participation of students to school. 
He also said the environment for education and removing security threat would be improved.
