Kabul (BNA) Dear countrymen, brothers and sisters:
It is a matter of pleasure that the 22nd victory anniversary of the Jihad of the people of Afghanistan is being marked and on this occasion I am presenting my heart-felt and cordial congratulations to the hero and proud nation of Afghanistan.
During the Jihad, more than 1.5 million of the sons of this land had been martyred against the invading forces to defend the country’s freedom. Hundreds of thousands of your sons, you people had been maimed. And I am praying for the departed souls of the martyrs besides expressing sympathy with their families.
I am also thankful to those who had got disabled in defending the country’s freedom and religion and I am sure the people of Afghanistan is thankful to you people for your courage and sacrifices.

Jihad is a glorious chapter of our contemporary history and has been written in golden letters.
Following the invasion of the former Soviet Union, you the honorable people had made Jihad with unity. Our people under the leadership of esteemed Jihadi leaders had challenged the invading forces and despite problems, hungry and shortage of food have proved that they are safeguarding their freedom and their religion Islam, and the world is witness to the fact.
The outcome of your Jihad and your bravery is the victory which happened on Saur 8 has opened a new chapter in the history of our country.
