CE Supports Women Offer For Chamber of Commerce

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah at the inaugural conference of establishment of women chamber of commerce said he fully supported the initiative and strengthening the women role and partnership in different fields was the priority of the government of national unity, said BNA the other day.
The CE said development without women was impossible and that the government leadership had taken practical step for the women sustainable development in the country, but to further reach the goal, there was a long way ahead that required hard work, the agency quoted. He said the issue of women trade activities, increase in the products of female traders would be discussed at the council of ministers and its sub-committees, the agency added.
He said he fully supported the women initiative for building their own led chamber of commerce, but urged for doing to increase the level of their participation in the current chamber of commerce and industries. Abdullah also said the government of national unity support women participation in the provincial and district level councils elections, said the agency. Meanwhile, David Sidney, Rector of American University of Afghanistan welcomed support of the CE to women trade initiative said the 4-day conference was held to discuss building women capacity and trade as well as economic challenges and opportunities related to them, said the agency. The conference was held by the American University of Afghanistan and the international center for the women economic growth, in which a number of cabinet ministers, ambassadors of foreign countries and craftswomen were participated.
