Kabul (BNA) The celebration of the Constitution Week was marked in presence of Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president.
The gathering was attended by some Jehadi leaders and political personalities, ministers of education, higher education, public works, members of the cabinet, some members of the National Assembly, chairman of the independent election commission, members of the commission for supervision of implementation of the Constitution and some other higher government officials.
Addressing the gathering Khalili said that fortunately the rule of law has been ensured gradually in Afghanistan, and possibly the laws has been violated by some people in some parts of the country, but what is clear is the far that the contents of the enforced laws in Afghanistan is such that they will indicate their values in the future.
Touching on non-alignment of the spirit of some of the past laws, with the present Constitution he emphasized that and asked the commission for supervision of execution of Constitution and other legal organs to resort to improvement of the past laws.
He also said that the commission supervising implementation of the Constitution has the responsibility and the government and the people decisively support that commission.
At the gathering Sebghatullah Mujaddedi also spoke and considered the Constitution as a national document.
Gul Rahman Qazi the chairman of the supervising commission for execution of Constitution talked on the importance of the Constitution in the structure of the political order.
He added that adoption of over 200 resolutions, proposing of 20 legal consultations to the government, signing of 12 understanding notes with different organs, distribution of 100,000 texts of the Constitution and supervising other organs were some of the activities the commission has performed so far.
He also informed the gathering about the future programs of the commission and asked for political support to the Constitution, massive support of the people of this national document, increase in the budget of the commission, cooperation of the legal organs at the national levels.
