Afghan Press Enjoys Full Freedom, Dr. Raheen

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture appreciated the daily Hasht-e-Sobh for obtaining world award.
In a ceremony held for this purpose was addressed by Dr. Raheen congratulated Parwaiz Kawa the editor of Hasht-e-Sobh, it’s the reporters and the press of the country over obtaining of this world award. 
He added that in the past decade the press in the country has enjoyed freedom and has developed both quantatively and qualitatively.
He added that we, our shortcomings as well but we can say that our press has ached marked successes to the public indeed. He stressed that we should appreciate the picture, audio-visual and printed media in the country, so we must be in the defense of the freedom of speech while no development in the country should not be ignored under the pretext of finest human and civil values like the freedom of speech, presence of the international community and democracy and women rights.
Dr. Hashim Esmat Ellahi lecturer of the journalism of Kabul University spoke and said that the daily Hasht-Sobh achieved marked success at the international journalism area and deserves such an award.
Fauzia Kufi deputy from Badakhshan at the House of People also talked on the role of the media and added that we should into account the morality and professional standards in the society and freedom of speech should not defined that it should drag the society towards irregularities and tension.
The editor of Hasht-e-Sobh Parwaiz Kawa appreciated the Ministry of Information and Culture and said that this award belong to all the people of Afghanistan and praised the activities of Dr. Raheen.
