Kabul (BNA) The construction work of Joy Kalan and Hafiz Bacha intakes has started in Nahren district, northern Baghlan province yesterday.
Mohammad Nayem Nawabi head of Baghlan river basin told BNA, the water intakes to be constructed at a cost of over AFG 19, 700,000 by financial assistance of World Bank with the of water and power.
With construction of the intakes more than 1500 acres of lands will be irrigated in Nahren district of the province.
Already the intakes have been destroyed due to flash floods and agricultural water cut off to 1500 acres of land, but with completion of the project the problems of farmers will be settled.
