Kabul (BNA) Dr. Zalmai Rasul Minister of Foreign Affairs met yesterday with Miliband leader of the opposition of Britain.
At this meeting Dr. Zalmai Rasul representing the people and government of Afghanistan appreciated the assistance to the government of Afghanistan in Helmand province and said that we have achievements in the political, social, and economic spheres of our people in the past decade and the role of Britain in this area is worth appreciation.
Considering the importance Afghanistan attaches to the upgrading of trust and cooperation in the region of heart of Asia, Dr. Zalmai Rasul provided explanations to Miliband and his accompanying delegation.
He also emphasized on the importance of long-term cooperation with international allies including Britain in continued upgrading the trust of the people of Afghanistan.
Touching on the confirmation of the long-term strategic cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and the US by the Afghan House of People he said that this indicates unity of views of all Afghans in preserving of achievements of the past ten year and up keeping of close cooperation with the world to the interest of peace, stability and welfare of Afghanistan in the region.
Miliband said that his party will continue encouraging the British government towards cooperation with Afghanistan.
The British opposition delegation includes Sir Richard Stog British ambassador in Kabul and senior members of Labor Party of the country.
