Kabul (BNA) It has passed 15 years since the coalition forces started their operations against terrorism in Afghanistan, but still Afghanistan and the entire world facing the grave threat of terrorism, extremism and other criminal groups.
BNA political analyst commenting on the issue writes 15 years ago on October 7, 2001 US led international coalition started their operations in Afghanistan aiming eradication of Al-Qaeda terrorist network under the leadership of Osama bin Laden. Al-Qaeda blamed for terrorist attacks on US on September 11, 2001. Due to the attacks of coalition forces, the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, supported Al-Qaeda collapsed and its leaders accompanied by Al-Qaeda leaders fled and hided in Pakistan territory. Unfortunately, the attacks carried out by coalition forces did not succeed to eradicate Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces completely. Passing a short time, those criminal forces reorganized by Pakistan intelligent service, financially supported by certain extremist circles of Arabic countries started their terrorist activities such as carrying terrorist attacks, planting mines on highways, and killing innocent people. They were funded and equipped, but not in the name so-called Islamic Emirate, but emerged as a resistance forces. This time there were more savage than before caused more casualties and destructions.
During the last 15 years, the Afghan territory became the battlefield between the forces that have come to Afghanistan to fight against terrorism and so-called resistance forces, but the Afghan people sustained the heavy weight of war imposed by foreign countries. Although, the struggle carried out in the name of counter–terrorism campaign but the Afghan troops the real sacrifices of this imposed war and the Afghan civilians sustained heavy casualties and destructions. It is a bitter reality, although thousands of Afghans and hundreds of foreign troops have lost their lives in battle against terrorism, but still terrorism and extremism exist as a grave threat across the world. The reason that the world community did not succeed in defeating terrorism during the last 15 years, there was no a constructive strategy for attacking the hideouts of terrorists and their supporting countries and intelligence services of the region. Using this opportunity, the intelligence services of the region especially of the neighboring country used terrorist and extremist networks as a means for achieving their ambitious and satanic goals in the region.
Therefore, if the coalition forces really want to fight terrorism, they should target the hideouts of terrorists, their supporters and the sources that financially support them. Otherwise, as the western countries know, terrorism not only threats Afghanistan and the region but the entire world, September 11, 2001 event is a good proof for our claim. Therefore, for eradication of terrorism, it would be an urgent task of counter terrorism forces to identify the terrorists’ supporters and their hideouts and target them and also equipping Afghan security forces with up to date weapons would be the best way for reaching that human goal this is eradication of terrorist forever.
