Czech Embassy, Local NGOs Sign Contracts For ‘Small Scale Project’

Kabul (BNA) Czech embassy in Kabul signed three separate contracts for Small Scale Projects with two local NGOs based in Kabul and Nangarhar, Relief Organization for Afghan Women and Children (ROAWC) and Sustainable Development Organization for Women (SDOFW) here at the premises of embassy in Kabul on March 14.
While signing the contracts, Czech Ambassador to Kabul Petr Stipanek said the projects were sponsored by the Development Cooperation and humanitarian Aid Department of the Czech’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Czech Republic has committed itself to contribute to stability and relief in Afghanistan. The project for Zarghona High School aims to facilitate the students with modern equipment and too build their capacities,” Ambassador Stipanek added.
Pointing to construction of bridge in Kunar and digging of wells in Nangarhar province, Czech ambassador said those two projects were to facilitate potable water and movement of people in the rural areas of those provinces. “Our NGO in close cooperation with Czech Republic has implemented many relief projects in Afghanistan and we have recently established a computer lab for Zarghona High School through direct support of the Czech Embassy,” Zabiullah Danesh in charge of ROAWC told.
He went on saying that the new contract would establish a well-equipped laboratory in Zarghona High School and to ease capacity building efforts in the school. While signing the contract with Czech Embassy in Kabul, Ajmal, head of SDOFW told that the contract was included construction of a bridge in Kunar and digging of wells in Nangarhar. “The implementation of the project to take two months which will start at the end of March and we will try our best to finish it on due time,” he added. Thanking the NGOs heads, ambassador Stipanek wished them success in implementation of the projects.
