Kabul (BNA) Exhibitions of Bactrian Treasures (known as the hidden treasures) in many of the world countries introduce ancient history of Afghanistan to the world people and so far, this exhibition has been held in over 13 countries including France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, US, UK, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Korea and currently is being held in People’s Republic of China.
In an interview with The Kabul Times reporter, Director of the National Museum of Afghanistan Mohammad Fahim Rahimi said current exhibition is the 23rd exhibition and is being exhibited for third time in Chinese major cities.
He added, the previous revenues of the exhibitions, amounted to over 200 million Afghanis and current exhibition that would be opened for eight months would bring a revenue of USD 850,000. “Totally over 100,000 visitors have inspected all previous exhibitions and more visitors are expected to watch the exhibition in China,” Museum director added.
Rahimi went on to say, no country has requested for holding of the exhibition after China, adding the Afghan Archeology Department receives applications for this purpose and later a committee of Afghan archeologists would decide on the next venue of the exhibition.
Talking on their future plans, Rahimi said: “Our goal is to develop such exhibitions in national museum in the capital Kabul, for the Afghans to visit and see the unique pieces. For this purpose, on March 11. 2018, we organized exhibition of coins in national museum building.”
Meanwhile, Omidullah a local countryman said, holding of such exhibition of Bactrian Treasures outside of the country indeed introduce ancient and historical relics with multi-thousands of years background, adding it would be very useful to hold exhibition inside Afghanistan especially for young generation to visit it and learn about their country.
University student Maliha told The Kabul Times reporter that she was very keen to see the Afghan masterpieces of the Bactrian Treasures that reminding of the country’s old civilization. She asked officials to do more and organize the exhibition inside Afghanistan.
