Anti-Poppy Drive To Kick Off In Uruzgan

Kabul (BNA) An anti-poppy drives is expected to be launched soon in Uruzgan province.
The officials on Monday said that this program will completely destroy the illegal harvest on 1,000 hectares of land.
Sher Pacha Orguni deputy provincial governor of Uruzgan said we have directed the security officials to prevent further poppy cultivation in this province.
Despite drastic measures by related organs still some farmers grow the illegal crop.  Orguni directed local commanders to wipe out the opium crop as soon as possible.
