Kabul (BNA) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salahuddin Rabbani met United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson at the US Department of State, Washington DC, the MoFA said in a statement.
At the outset, FM Rabbani counted the holding of Ministers of the Global Coalition Meeting on the defeat of ISIS as a timely and beneficial meeting and besides thanking the United States Secretary of State for hosting the aforementioned meeting, talked regarding the Afghan government’s concern level from the existence and activities of ISIS in Afghanistan and the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces achievements in combating ISIS in Afghanistan, the statement said. Later on, Secretary Tillerson counted the existence of ISIS in various countries of the world as a common threat for all countries and emphasized the need for cooperation between the world countries on countering ISIS in all areas. Global Coalition on the Defeat of ISIS member countries should collaborate by sharing information and coordinating necessary measures in the battlefield as well as in other areas with ISIS, he added.
Both sides discussed the relations and cooperation outlook between the two countries as well as the political, security, economic, and conditions and peace process of Afghanistan.
