Four People Survives a Plane Crash in Badakhshan Province

 

BADSKHSHAN (BNA): Four people have survived a plane crash in Badakhshan province, northern Afghanistan, and have been transferred to Kabul. The small Russian passenger plane, which was flying from India to Russia, crashed on Saturday evening in the Kof district for reasons that are still unclear.

The wreckage was discovered by Afghan security forces following a search late on Sunday. Khan Mohammad Haji Asad, a local official in Badakhshan, confirmed to BNA that four out of the six people onboard survived the incident.

Russia’s aviation authority has stated that two of the passengers are Russian.

The Afghanistan Ministry of Aviation announced that the small plane had four crew members and two passengers, and emphasized that it wasn’t registered in Afghanistan.

The cause of the crash remains unknown. Local authorities in Badakhshan have reported that the four survivors have been moved from the crash site and are unharmed.
