Taliban Militants Sustain Heavy Causalities In Helmand

Kabul (BNA) Afghan security forces started widespread operation in Sangin district, Helmand province yesterday.
According to BNA report, the operation launched by Afghan National Army forces in different parts of Sangin district, aiming to clean the area from existence of armed oppositions.
It is the first independently operation led by Afghan National Commando forces after withdrawal of foreign forces in Helmand province.
Ministry of National Defense press office stated BNA, Taliban militants sustained heavy casualties during the operation so far.
The operation started from Sangin district and Afghan security forces managed to increase their operation up to Nahrsaraj and Garashk districts of the province as soon.
During the operation at least 22 militants were killed in Sangin district, 25 rebels were killed in Nahrsaraj district, six insurgents were killed in Garashk district and 30 others militants were wounded.
Also Afghan security forces discovered and defused dozen kilograms explosive materials, chemical materials, terrorist maps and some others terrorist equipment.
The operation conducting in Sangin district of the province, while, at the beginning of the current year more than 1000 militants including foreigners insurgents started clashes with Afghan security forces.
