HEC Orders Re-Bidding of Jabul Saraj Cement Factory

Kabul (BNA) The High Economic Council (HEC) meeting, chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, was held on Thursday and discussed the National Consumer Support Policy (NCSP), the establishment of dairy product factories and Jabul Saraj Cement Factory, a statement from the presidential palace said.
The (HEC) has approved ‘the National Consumer Support Policy (NCSP)’ and decided to re-announce the contract of Jabul Saraj Cement Factory, the statement added.
Feroz Khan Masjidi, secretary of the private sector at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, presented the consumer support policy which was finally approved after detailed discussion and deliberation.
The president said a follow up plan for NCSP needed and every institution should be given a deadline to implement their policies in this regard.
Later, agriculture ministry representative provided detail information to the meeting regarding dairy processing factories’ establishment. The meeting decided to hand over the administration of dairy factories to the private sector.
During the meeting, the president rejected the previous contract of Jabul Saraj Cement Factory due to some problems highlighted by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
The president ordered the ministry to invite bids for the contract again.
