Women Seek More Roles In Social Activities

Kabul (BNA) The Afghanistan Women Network has proposed more roles for involvement of women in social activities including peace process, protecting women from war suffering, preventing violence against women and achieving prosperity.
The head of the women network, Mahbouba Saraj in her address at a conference on implementation of 1325 resolution of the UN Security Council, said the Afghan women network with the financial support of Canadian embassy and cooperation of the ministries of interior, defense and women affairs as well as civil society had prepared a report that can help to implement the 1325 resolution of the UNSC.
Speaking at conference, Sayeda Mujgan Mustafawi the deputy to ministry of women affairs stated that the resolution is the 10year working program of the ministry.
On behalf of the ministry for foreign affairs, Sayedullah Reshtin in his address said that the government of Afghanistan by inking the agreement with Finland in 2011 presents the report on implementing the resolution to civil society and the United Nations.
Member of High Peace Council, Dr. Monisa and Nijla Ayubi of civil society also spoke at the conference.
