NSC Meeting Discusses Security Situation

Monday, September 01, 2014 Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai the meeting National Security Council (NSC) was held at the presidential palace yesterday and the three senior security officials submitted their reports on the security situation of the country. According to presidential press office to BNA, the participation of Afghan delegation at NATO Summit expected to be held in Wales, Berlin on 2rd Sep 2014 was also discussed at the meeting. It was decided that in case until date the elected president was not announced, the minister of national defense will be tasked to attend the NATO Summit on behalf of the Afghan government. At the meeting the finalization of Salma Dam construction work was discussed. The watering to the dam is supposed to be started soon and it was instructed that essential measures should be adopted for comprehensive security of this project.
