Ulema Role Vital For A Stable Afghanistan: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with the head and members of Afghanistan’s Ulema Council, and felicitated them on Eid-al-Adha this noon.
At the beginning of the meeting that was held in ARG, the head of Afghanistan’s Ulema Council, Mawlawi Qyamudin Kashaf thanked President Ghani for hosting them. Appreciating President Ghani’s respectful and reverential treatment of the Ulema, Mawlawi Kashaf said that the Ulema support the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mawlawi Kashaf renewed pledge of allegiance to President Ghani, congratulated him on Eid and prayed for further success of the President in running the affairs of the country. President Ghani then highlighted the importance of Ulema and said that Ulema are heirs of the Prophets and without them the Islamic Government cannot thrive.
Urging respect and reverence for the Ulema, the President said that the religion of Islam is the raison d'ê·tre for Afghanistan, and this religion runs in the warp and weft of our existence, connecting us all. President Ghani noted that the people of Afghanistan have sought their point of connectivity and unity in every historical period in Islam and that there are economic and social rulings as well as justice and legal provisions in the religion of Islam. The President said that the raison d'être of Islam is justice, and without justice, neither commerce and agriculture, nor any political order can thrive. At the end of this meeting, President Ghani said that the government will take the necessary measures in consultation with the Ulema to ensure better observance of the day of Ashura.
