Taliban Senior Commander Killed in Herat Clashes

Herat (BNA) A senior Taliban commander was killed along with his three colleagues in a clash in Herat.

Mullah Sultan Taliban senior commander was monitoring the process of roadside bombing in Zinda Jan district by his colleagues, one of the mines exploded and killed them.

Herat police source told BNA that Mullah Sultan senior commander and shadow governor of Taliban for Zinda Jan district was involved in dozens of deadly attacks in Herat and that dozens of bridges and roads were destroyed on his command.

Mullah Sultan is known as the dangerous and ruthless leader of Taliban in Zinda Jan district.

He has organized dozens of armed attacks, bombings and landmines in parts of Herat, attacks that killed dozens of civilians, including women and children.

The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
