Kabul (BNA) The Independent Election Commission (IEC) chief Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani has admitted delay in announcement of preliminary poll result was a mistake.
Nuristani said yesterday that the initial results from run-off election would be announced today.
He said the scheduled plan of the election commission would no more be violated. “We are sorry that the timetable for result announcement was violated,” Nuristani said. “Yes the announcement will be made today,” Nuristani replied a reporter.
The election commission has said the audit and recounting process has been completed and the fake votes would not be part of the results being announced.
