“Kohzad Is One of The Key Figures of Afghanistan’s History,” President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani addressed the international academic and research seminar, commemorating the country’s great historian and archaeologist Ahmad Ali Kohzad here yesterday morning at the presidential palace, a statement said.
According to presidential press office, hinting to works of Kohzad and his message to new generation, the president called the seminar important, adding Kohzad was one of the key figures in Afghanistan’s history.
The president went on saying that Kohzad was not only a historian and archaeologist, but he was a national thinker, as he reviewed all national related identities and characterized Afghanistan’s thousands of history.
The president said Afghanistan’s history before Kohzad was only a fiction, but he changed it into a reality and established a historical depth for the country.
“Kohzad’s key point was to know how Afghanistan was the crossroad of the civilizations. He had the same vision to different parts of Afghanistan. Kohzad’s Bamyan, Paktia, Ghazni, Lashkargarh and Kunar’s history shows our great and united nation in the course of history and connects the different tribes,” the president added.
Calling Kohzad’s works unique, the President said he was quoting English, Italian and French languages in footer of his works.
The President added Kohzad was paying attention to women’s role in the course of history, as they were playing key role within the society.
The president meanwhile said he was considering Kohzad as the national thinker, as his works were not only for the academic environment, but for the whole nation of Afghanistan. The president proposed that Kohzad’s works to be digitalized, adding establishment of an academic center was a must within the Afghanistan’s Academy of Sciences or any university for analyzing of the country’s contemporary history.
The president also approved proposal of the Afghanistan Academy of Sciences’ for awarding Kohzad with ‘Alama’ title and name one of the squares after him.
Head of the Academy of Sciences Soraya Popal and Mrs. Najia Honarwar gifted President with some books of Kohzad and a calligraphy sign.
The ceremony was followed with speeches by Soraya Popal, Shamsulhaq Arianfar head of the government dailies, researcher Nazar Mohammad Azizi, Habibullah Rafih and Dr. Mohammad Sharif Zadran.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Executive second deputy Haji Mohammad Mohaqeq, a number of government officials, Homayoun Kohzad son of Ustad Kohzad, historians, researchers, lecturers and foreign guests.
