Kabul (BNA) Codification and approving of the constitution was one of our biggest successes during the last fifteen years, the President said in his message on National Week to Mark Approving Constitution.
In Jaddi 1382, we as a free and civilized nation, under the Islamic teachings and national values, social realities and past experiences could establish the most important document named ‘Constitution’, the message further said.
In the last eras, usually, the right of governance was of those who had used sword better than others. But the main purpose of the constitution was to sever relations of people and government from ruler and rule and give it the base of mutual contract of obligations and rights. Namely, the ruler is not allowed to rule, because he has conquered but for this, he is allowed to rule that the people voted him.
Fortunately, our constitution is among the best constitutions of the world, that is why we should mark our constitution proudly and know about this national collateral, the message continued.
As the president of the country, protection and implementation of the constitution is my most important job. All of us should endeavor to implement this national document. Balance among the three branches of the government is one of the important values of the constitution.
Non-interference in the affairs of judicial and legislative branches and respect to their independence is very important for implementation of the constitution.
As the head of three branches, I am committed to this principle and pleased that our judicial power carries out its duties independently. Our Chief Justice and members of the Supreme Court are attentive more than ever to take into account only law in their decisions and don’t allow any body to interfere in their affairs.
Each constitution can be reformed and completed based on society’s new needs, but this process should be made based on law in order not to face any problem, the message went on to say.
Respect to constitution is in fact respect to stability, peace, social solidarity and Islamic teachings, the message concluded.
