High Commission On Counter Disasters Holds Session

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the session of High Commission for Counter Disaster Management Authority (CDMA) was held yesterday at Sapidar Palace.
In the session, domestic displaced people’s condition, modality of preparations for addressing possible challenges in cold areas, environmental situation and concerns caused by pollutions were reviewed and discussed. State minister for CDMA Wais Ahmad Barmak while briefing the session related to domestic displaced people’s condition and preparations of the ministry and all other relevant organs said besides foodstuffs and other necessary items taken previously to vulnerable areas, it was determined that transition of 3000 tons wheat and flour would soon start to the respective areas. Informing of foodstuffs and other necessary items granted by Kazakhstan, Barmak added the aids were available and would be fairly distributed to 24 provinces and upon reaching other necessary items to Kabul, the items would be distributed to needy and possible disaster-affected people in various provinces.
In the session, the country’s chief executive instructed state minister for CDMA to take a part of the foodstuffs to drug-addicted treatment center to address part of their problems. Meanwhile, Barmak informed of preparations in various sections, saying that ministries, relevant organizations and international NGOs have done necessary coordination for urgently addressing possible problems in vulnerable areas in the country. Recalling of providing aids to displaced families in Nangarhar, Barmak added families of those martyred in insecurity of the province have received assistance. In the session, minister of refugees and repatriates Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi while briefing related to domestic displaced families’ condition considered the number of the displaced people as 157102 families most of whom were in Helmand, Herat, Faryab and Nangarhar provinces. According to another report, the country’s chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a ceremony held yesterday appreciated the country’s photographers for their works, efforts and accomplishments in terrible situation of the country.
