Kabul (BNA) The five-day working visit of leaders of national unity government from the US took place last week till once more, the political ties between Kabul-Washington be strengthened more than before.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah did their best within this tour till with a certain political definition the ties between Afghanistan and the USA that were estranged within previous government be improved again.
The reports say that in the course of this working tour, the high-ranking authorities of the US committed fresh commitments to Afghanistan.
The US defense secretary proclaimed that with comprehension of status quo in Afghanistan and for protection of achievements made within recent thirteen years till the end of 2017, his country continue to its all-out cooperation’s to 35,000-men armed forces of Afghanistan. Likewise, they emphasized on strengthening of cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries and also reported about agreement reached for establishment of working joint committee as well. Similarly, the US side laid emphasize within this meeting, if the Taliban and other government armed opponents leave violence, cut their relations with terrorist groupings and accept constitution of Afghanistan and respect human rights, this country supports their joining to Afghan government.
During this working tour, the US also declared its all-out support from the plan of national unity government in the fields of economy, counter official corruption, regional cooperation and discussion on self-economic sufficiency within next ten years.
A point that should pause on it was warm and taintless welcome of the US congress from president Ghani’s speech.
During delivering of this speech, the US Congressmen stood on their feet about 17 times and with continued applauding welcomed president Ghani. This was regarded as unprecedented in the history of the US.
This special welcome indicates that comparing anytime; the relations between the two countries get improved.
As the national unity government in its first working day signed two security and defending agreements with the US and NATO till the presence of military forces of the US and the West in Afghanistan to come under the legal frame and this measure of president Ghani is evaluated as important step took towards improvement of relations with the USA. Although, from one side, this welcome is the indicator of the US new commitment to Afghanistan and on the other, the new chapter is opened in the political field between the two countries. But, this time, how the leaders of national unity government can benefit from these opportunities had come into being? The time would respond to it.
It is mentionable that the tour of leaders of national unity government to the USA and their meeting with the high-ranking authorities of this country especially with its president and delivering of speech by president Ghani at the US congress provided the ground for effective understanding and attraction of new commitments of the US to Afghanistan.
But, the people ask, after this visit, how would be the ties between the two countries and in which level and standard the US would remain loyal to its commitments before protection of achievements made in Afghanistan within recent 13 years as well as towards maintaining security and stability in Afghanistan?
