Dunya, China’s Guangdong University of Foreign Studies To Sign Exchange Program Agreement

Kabul (BNA) The delegation of Afghan-China Friendship Association paid a visit to Guangdong University of foreign studies in in Guangzhou city of China and inspected various parts of the university where the delegation also held meeting with the university’s vice president.
At the outset, the vice president for GUFS briefed the delegation on the university’s current facilities as well as the academic programs.
“GUFS was established in 1965 and has 22 faculties with 64 programs. Around 22000 students are studying in the university where 2500 of which are the international students came from South Korea, Russia, Vietnam and Japan “GUFS vice president said, adding that the university has established scholarship exchange programs to over 272 universities around the globe and willing to start their cooperation with Dunya university of Afghanistan.
Following, the den of Dunya university of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Sagdel, briefed the university’s officials on Dunya academic programs and asserted his willingness on continued academic program with Guangdong University.
“In a very short period of time, Dunya has got a leading position among Afghanistan’s private universities. The Dunya University has now more than 8,000 student with professors from Europe, Latin America and the Asia” Sangdel added, saying that Dunya university organized a grand function on Sino-Afghan diplomatic relation of 60th years, which was attended by high ranking officials, including the Chinese ambassador to Kabul.
At the end the two sides agreed to prepare a framework of scholarship exchange program between the two countries to further strengthen the academic relations between the two countries.
