Ulemas’ Role Significant In Society: Gen. Dostum

Kabul (BNA) The First Vice-President General Abdul Rashid Dostum in meeting with a delegation of Ulema or religious scholars from Kandahar headed by Mohammad Nasim Akhundzada the in-charge of Kherqa-e-Mubarak here yesterday described the role of religious scholars very significant in society.
According to BNA, at the meeting which was attended by some lawmakers and judges from Supreme Court, Akhundzada said that the support of religious scholars would bolster the system and government. Lauding the role of religious scholars as important for peace and stability in the country, the Vice-President said that he would visit Kherqa-e-Mubarak in Kandahar in proper time. According to another report, First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum met with a number of businessmen of Canada, Tajikistan and Afghanistan with participation of minister of mines and petroleum Daud Shah Saba, deputy minister of water and energy, special envoy to president for Central Asia and chairmen of Pashtani Bank and Afghanistan International Bank.
