Government, Media Joint Committee’s Session Held

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan government and media joint committee’s session was held under the chairmanship of Vice President and head of the committee Sarwar Danesh in Kabul.
In the session, vice president first prayed for the souls of martyrs in particular media martyrs in recent terrorist incidents and praised journalists’ federation for its declaration in connection with ways of dealing of media with recent incidents and prevention of connecting recent terrorist attacks with sectarian. Praising Afghanistan government and media society for joint efforts towards improvement of condition of journalists in Afghanistan, Vice President stressed that Afghanistan government was making effort to fulfill its responsibility in connection with maintaining safety of journalists and media as well as investigating violence cases against journalists. Meanwhile, he instructed judicial and security organs to finalize their reviews related to cases of violence against journalists and would soon report it to the committee.
Based on the session’s agenda, representative of MoIA delivered the session the ministry’s report in connection with violence against journalists during the past one month across the country. Based on the ministry’s report, beating case of journalists in Charikar demonstrations, attacking of unidentified individuals on house of provincial director for information and tourism in Parwan, insulting case of editor in chief of Ramz weekly newspaper in Parwan, threatening case of employees of Shahr Radio in Parwan, beating case of BNA journalist in Zabul and threatening of employees of Naseem Radio in Daikundi have been investigated by the MoIA.
