Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the National Procurement Commission (NPC) in a meeting approved four contracts worth 600 million Afghanis, a statement said the other day.
The contracts covered some projects including the process of water supply design for the Khawja Rawash and Emirate townships located in Qasaba area of the capital Kabul, employment of an advisory company for monitoring the investment projects for the energy sector expansion, recruiting a consultative company to oversee the process of North-South power line and a project could provide stationery for the ministry of defense, a statement from the presidential press office said. Two more contracts on airplane oil procurement related to the Aryana Airline Company (AAC) and extension of contract for consultative services of Hindokush connecting corridor and the Behsoud Bridge of Nangarhar province has also been approved, the statement added. But, the National Procurements Commission (NPC) rejected a suggestion for procurement of Telecom Company’s oil and some procurement materials for the national standard administration, for being against legal standards, the statement further added. President Ghani, while discussing the related issues, said the National Procurement Commission should facilitate the procurement process of those administrations lacked needed procurement capacity, according to the statement. He said any restriction to the projects should be removed and a sound rival should be made among the appliers, the statement further said.
The Central Bank (CB) was also tasked for long-term oversee to the process of issuing Bank Guarantees and credit line to offer guarantee and guarantee of the projects’ work process and share the issue with the private banks and provide details about the condition of issuing guarantees to the costumers, the statement continued.
