NEPA Announces Action Plan For Kabul Air-Pollution Reduction

Kabul (BNA) In a media briefing held at the Government Media and Information Center here yesterday, the five-year action plan for the Kabul air pollution prevention and reduction has been announced.
Deputy head of the National Environment Protection Agency (NEPA) announced the five-year action plan for the capital air pollution prevention and reduction, during the media conference attended by the Kabul governor, deputy policy interior minister, deputy Kabul mayor and deputy minister of urban development and lands.
They welcomed the announcement of the five-year action plan and vowed to do their bests based on their responsibilities, for the implementation of the plan.
Eng. Ezatullah Seddiqi, the Deputy Head of the National Environment Protection Agency said all activities of the plan have been prioritized and specified based on the related organs categorized responsibilities and approved in the cabinet meeting.
The five-year action plan has been arranged to help tackle air pollution, where the main reason is nonstandard transportation system, using nonstandard fuels in the vehicles, using unrefined coal and fossils, lack of city garbage management and violation of the environment rules, due to not observing the environment rules and regulations.
