Explosion In Khost Leaves 2 Civilians Dead, 9 Others Injured

Kabul (BNA) At least two civilians were killed and nine others were injured following an explosion in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan.
Local government officials said the incident took place on Monday afternoon around 4:00Pm local time in Khost city.
Provincial police chief, Gen. Faizullah Ghairat confirmed the incident and said the target of the explosion was a police vehicle.
Gen. Ghairat confirmed that the Afghan security forces did not suffer any casualties following the explosion.
Khost is among the relatively provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants and insurgents from the other militant groups including Haqqani Network are actively operating in a number of its districts and frequently carry out insurgency attacks.
