Kabul (BNA) The judiciary meeting with President Hamid Karzai on the chair held meeting in Arg the other day.
According to BNA, in the meeting attended by first vice president Mohammad Younus Qanooni, second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili, acting chief justice Abdul Salam Azimi, Gul Rahman Qazi, acting justice minister Sayed Yusuf Halim, attorney general Mohammad Ishaq Alko, presidential advisor on national security Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta and Nasrullah Stanikzai during which variety of matters were discussed and necessary decisions were taken.
With regard to the proposal of the Senate about promotion of members of district councils to the member of senate it was decided that since the temporary member of district council in line with the presidential decree can become member of senate until holding elections is clear and member of district council can serve as member of senate till the end of provincial council’s term.
Later on the issue with regard to preventing vacuum of leadership and making decision in the independent commission on implementation of the constitution was discussed and it was decided that the chairman and former members of the commission should continue to work till appointment of new chairman and members by the president.
